Welcome to St. Jude’s Anglican Church!
We are an Anglican Church in the town of Huntersville, NC. Huntersville is a rapidly-growing community situated between the Lake Norman area and the city of Charlotte, NC. St Jude’s is joyfully connected to the Anglican Communion as a member of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). A product of the Reformation, the modern Anglican Church is Protestant in theology yet ancient in practice, retaining many elements of traditional, liturgical worship. As Anglicans, we experience much of our Christian formation through the patterns and discipline of the Book of Common Prayer (ACNA 2019).
The Anglican Church is the third largest expression of global Christianity, totaling nearly 85 million people worldwide. Our Church (and the Anglican Church in North America as a whole) is a small part of a larger and determined effort to love the world that Jesus Christ came to save by preaching the Gospel according to the Scriptures and making disciples. By enjoying a rich history of liturgical worship and working toward a fruitful future of Christian discipleship we seek to be a people knit together by the Holy Spirit, “to manifest and confess the presence of Christ and His kingdom in the world” (The Eucharist: Sacrament of the Kingdom by Alexander Schmemann).

Core Values
Bible – We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the written Word of God; therefore, the Holy Scriptures have sufficient and final authority within the church. The Holy Scriptures contain and clearly set forth all things necessary for salvation. The Bible is to be translated, read, preached, taught and obeyed when properly understood according to its canonical sense with the aid of the ministerial authority of the church’s historic and consensual reading. The authority of the Holy Scriptures does not depend upon the testimony of the church but upon the self-attesting authority of God alone, revealed by the inward testimony of the Holy Spirit to establish His true church.
Creeds – We believe in confessing the historic creeds, definitions, and articles of the church (Apostles, Nicene, Athanasian, Chalcedon, and Thirty-nine articles). We confess these creeds, definitions, and articles because they are derived from the Holy Scriptures and faithfully express the rule of faith “once for all entrusted to the saints.” (Jude 3)
Liturgy – We gather and participate in liturgical worship by means of word and sacrament according to the content and pattern of our Anglican heritage. Liturgy fosters spiritual formation and growth in discipleship; “we rejoice in our Anglican sacramental and liturgical heritage as an expression of the gospel.” (GAFCON Jerusalem Declaration).
Prayer – We pray that we may know the peace and mercy of Christ. We long for the coming of His kingdom, so His will “may be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
The Great Commission – We are the Church with the mission of making disciples. The Holy Spirit equips the church by the means of grace to proclaim the gospel throughout a fallen and broken world. We believe the proper and true apostolic succession is by means of faithfully proclaiming and defending the true gospel throughout the ages.
